Who’s Up For A Friday Riddle?

Bet you can’t guess what I’ve been up to this week at Kinetix HQ…

Here are your hints:

1. Its related to leadership development…

2. the NFL…

3. Samuel L. Jackson…

4. Lucy Lui…

5. and pyrotechnics.

It’s bananas. But in case you’re still not picking up what I’m throwing down…here’s a little more background on what the heck I do all week at Kinetix. But then you have to guess.

My job is to create a leadership development series with Kris Dunn. From scratch. For me, getting to create a leadership development series from scratch is about like getting drafted into the NFL with a much lower risk of injury (and salary). I’m not kidding. As an I/O, I get to nerd out and dig deep into the research because we think it’s important that if we’re going to create something new, it better be killer.  Which means that it better be consistent with the best science we’ve got and it better be practical as hell. And since it’s Kinetix, it better be cool… like imagine how cool/B.A. a love child from Samuel L. Jackson and Lucy Lui would be. Cooler than that.

More than anything, the series has to be something that works for real managers of people in a tangible way. So, one of the ways we’re going to accomplish that is by providing quick-hitting on-demand videos to help managers refresh what they learn during training.

You guessed it: I’m drafting the first set of scripts for the first bunch of videos for our leadership development series. I never would have thought (especially with my I/O background), that I’d be writing scripts.

Only problem is that my utter hatred of cheesy training videos coupled with my perfectionist tendencies means I’m wearing out my backspace key. Probably more than I should.  Which means it’s taking longer than I want it to, but I’m still having a lot of fun with it.

Oh, and I fibbed about the pyrotechnics to get you to keep reading… I’ll see what KD says, but I still don’t think we can talk the fire marshal into approving that one.

Back to script writing…

P.S. — if anyone knows Samuel L. and/or Lucy Liu… mind asking if they’d be up for a cameo? #IllKeepDreaming
